For generations, our family called the South Texas brush country home. My grandpa spent his life working cattle, chasing rain clouds, fixing fences, and building a ranch that was never just a piece of land—it was a way of life. Year after year, he poured everything he had into those cows. Through scorching summers and hard winters, he carried on with the grit and determination that only a rancher understands. But, eventually, Mother Nature dealt a hand no one could outrun. The drought came, pastures turned brown, stock tanks dried up, and the grass that had sustained generations simply disappeared. Faced with one of the hardest decisions of his life, Grandpa was forced to sell the cattle herd he had spent decades building. For many, that would have been the end of the story, but, ranchers are built differently. Instead of giving up, he looked for another path. With hope and faith in the land he loved, he brought home a couple of Texas Dall rams and opened the gates to hunters seeking a South Texas experience. What started as a simple idea became the beginning of something new. Not long afterward, Grandpa passed away, leaving behind more than just a ranch. He left behind a legacy of hard work, perseverance, and a deep love for the outdoors and family. Today, that legacy lives on. Every year, our family adds a little more. A few more improvements, a few more animals, a few more memories made around campfires and in hunting blinds. We aren't trying to replace what Grandpa built—we're building on to it. What began as a cattle operation and transformed through hardship has become something even bigger: a place where traditions are passed down, first hunts are celebrated, stories are shared, and family remains at the center of it all. Grandpa may no longer be riding these pastures, but his spirit still lives in every sunrise over the brush country and every step we take to make the ranch bigger and better than the year before. Because this ranch isn't just our business, it's his legacy. And we're proud to carry it forward.
